Didn't look like there were many Cougar fans there from the broadcast. Assuming the stadium seats around 80k, how many would you estimate in white and blue?

Found out on FB that my cousin and his wife were at the game. So jealous.
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

This makes up for my mad dash at the end of officiating a football game last year only to see byu lose to Utah.

Not a lot. I'm terrible at crowd estimates like this but I'd say definitely less than 5k. Maybe more like 3. Wisky fans mostly ignored us but the ones that did talk to us were very pleasant even after their loss. I'm putting Wisconsin fans on the good guy list.

Of the few games I catch each year, I decide to watch the Cal game, and miss the one I should have seen. I hope my son appreciates me showing up for his cross country meet.

            A great win.

BIggest Mormon win over Wisconsin since Donny and Marie beat Laverne and Shirley in the ratings.

I was joking before the field goal was kicked that their kicker looked like he drinks a lot of beer. Maybe one too many.

No DVR on Sling (didn't pay for that option). But am trying out PSvue now. Will DVR the Washington game!

Interesting. I read mbn's comments to mean that if your priorities were in order, you wouldn't have needed the DVR.

Pretty sure we had this discussion on here years ago (Solon was the instigator if I remember right), but fan has a murky origin. Some believe its modern usage rose from a Baseball context and the early adopters did typically link it with fanatic. On the other hand, we know that in boxing circles, earlier than the Baseball context, a part of the crowd was "The Fancy" (which was a heterogeneous group that included people such as dandified young men or costermongers). Some argued that even though those early baseball adopters linked fan to fanatic the connection to "The Fancy" are too strong to ignore. In that evolution fan is linked more directly with fancy, fanciful, or fantasy and not as closely fanaticism.

Of course, one can argue that the actual evolution doesn't matter because the vast majority seem to link it with fanaticism; hence, effectively it is short for fanatic. On the other hand, that sort of thinking created a world where literally means metaphorically.
