I'm still perplexed by this rumor that they wouldn't let Gary Anderson coach there. Why wouldn't they?

Dude as SJSU. He'll be moving up soon.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

From what I heard from what I consider a pretty reliable source, it had to do with his inactivity.

I am guessing here, but I think managment would see a high profile coach. defensive coordinator, with an "inactivity" problem as a bigger PR deal than a non-member coach.

Hmmm... I thought he wasn't LDS. But its an inactivity thing? Ugh.

Andersen was a graduate assistant at Ricks back in the late 80s. He most definitely is LDS. I know someone that played on Ricks with him there and he said he'd be shocked if Andersen is not an active member.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I'm sure a lot of people who knew me in my 20s would be shocked at the changes that I've all undergone.
