  • Guess What? The Y Got a Fever!: BYU vs Mississippi State

The Bulldogs come to the altitude of Provo for a Friday night game. The last time they were in Provo, Charlie Peterson was the BYU QB, and Miss. St.'s defense scored three touchdowns off of BYU turnovers on the way to a 44-28 victory over the Cougars.

The Bulldogs are 2-3 on the season, with wins over a struggling South Carolina and over UMass. Their defense is actually pretty good (#30 in total yards), and they have a receiver in Fred Ross who could be a tough match-up for the BYU secondary.

That said, BYU has good momentum from its two-game win streak. AV special: BYU is currently -7 from what I am seeing. JWill and THill are getting it done on offense, and the defense has been opportunistic. I think it could be a closer game than some are expecting, but I like BYU's chances. The Cougars will avenge Luke Staley and sweep the leg!

Pretty solid recovery from last week on the thread title.

I just remembered that my company's CEO's son plays for MSU.

I had guessed the line would be 8 to 8.5. I love the cougs at -7. However, with JP coming up with an excellent thread title, I'm now officially worried.

For those who don't get the reference....

PS I watched The Deer Hunter for the first time in my life a month or so ago. Wow talk about a depressing movie. Even Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey thought the ending was a bummer.

                You da man, JP!

                Boney is a national treasure.

                Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

There is a reason why it is a classic. Russian roulette is a scary game. Yikes.

I have a hard time of thinking of a more intense movie scene, it was great.

Hey, what happened to that MSU fan that was hanging around here? Mormon Dawg or LDS Dawg, Dawg Dawg, or whatever? Did you all scare him off? Is he still going to the game? I need some more tickets.
