It can happen. Perhaps losing Chip Kelly to the NFL and OC Scott Frost to Central Florida has had an impact. Nebraska had a decade of good QBs (Tommie Frazier, Scott Frost, Eric Crouch) culminating in a Heisman winner and then had a series of recruiting failures at QB and at one point were trolling JC transfers. Tom Osborne retiring had an impact.Originally posted by USUC View PostI don't think its as bad you think, but for the life of me I can't understand how you go from having a string of great QBs, culminating in a Heisman winning QB, to recruiting FCS QBs.
I hope Oregon finds some answers and the football starts bouncing the Ducks way along with crucial officiating calls.“Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory.”
"All things are measured against Nebraska." falafel

LSU administration seems like a total headache. Herman van pick the perfect situation, and I don't think LSU is it. But I think there will be many great jobs opening this year. Maybe USC? Is Oregon at that point?Originally posted by SCcoug View PostThey've gotta go after Tom Herman right?
Kyle Whittingham to LSU.

I'm thinking more and more that Whittingham may be a lifer. His window of going anywhere else has about three more years before it closes.Originally posted by USUC View PostLSU administration seems like a total headache. I don't think Whit is going anywhere. Wishful thinking. He's already the greatest coach in the university's history. Give him a couple of years and it will be Kyle Whittingham Field at Rice Eccles Stadium. Probably a statue as well.Originally posted by All-American View PostI'm thinking more and more that Whittingham may be a lifer. Briles will have his pick at the end of the season, but the LSU job is open now.
Petrino and possibly Chip Kelly may be available at the end of the season. I wonder if the USC job will open up.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
