I turned the game on right before the failed onside kick. Another close loss. Unreal.

Sorry, Omaha and PBW. I can't imagine.

Nebraska needs to return to its roots to do some soul searching... and came back to the Big 12.

What is up will all those corn fans in Ireland? Do they even have runzas there?

Only if your moment includes the past two decades. It's not the "now" part that hurts. It's the "forever" that hurts. Nebraska was not always a 30 ranked team. They were once a blue blood and a top 10 team. Times change, I suppose - Tom Osborne owned the SEC.

Money isn't everything... Nebraska should just come home. They don't love them in the B1G.
Professors care about sports? Is this why Nebraska lost its AAU status?

Fueled and frustrated: Nebraska faces criticism, crossroads in 2022

You can not escape football in a football-crazy state on a football-obsessed campus, particularly one steeped in a winning tradition with multiple national championship trophies and statues, and the ghosts of legends of the past constantly cooing and booing the present.

Winning is everything and losing can bring out the worst in the diehard fans, and no school epitomizes that heightened reality more than Nebraska, the ground zero of college football frustration. The Cornhuskers have become perennial losers over the last decade, and under Scott Frost the program has its worst winning percentage with a 15-29 record in half a century. The chronic pain intensified in 2021 when the Huskers lost eight games by one possession during a 3-9 season, the most in FBS history.

Almost predictably, frustration has boiled over into the classrooms on campus, where students and professors no longer hide their disdain and criticism of coaches and players.
    [...]
And what about the time Nelson, on his day off, decided to nap at home and upon this revelation a neighbor remarked, "That's probably why you can't win games."

"It destroys you as a player and as a competitive man," Nelson said.
    [...]
"Everything's right in the world when Nebraska is good at football and winning football games," Nelson said. "Life hasn't really made much sense over these last few years."
    [...]
"I just want him to be happy again," Nelson said. "I want my coaches to be happy. I'm tired of seeing their faces and their demeanor. I want them to have fun with football again. I want them to have fun coaching us again. I want to be proud of this university and I want them to be proud of their university and the time they have here."

Times have changed, but at least time hasn't yet run out on Frost's Huskers.

"I wanted to win for Coach Osborne. I can tell you that," said Alberts, who won the Dick Butkus Award as the nation's top linebacker in 1993. "I was scared not to win for Coach Osborne. I don't want to put too much on that. We played for Nebraska. This is about Nebraska. We will try to do everything in the best interest of Nebraska. I think Scott feels the same way."
