  • The curse of Scott Frost is a bad one...

Oklahoma became the latest victim of the curse of Scott Frost. Northwestern beat Nebraska in Week 0, and it hasn't won since. Georgia Southern stunned the Cornhuskers in Week 2, then lost the following week to UAB. Oklahoma delivered a rout of Nebraska last week, then could not stop former Huskers QB Adrian Martinez on Saturday, as Kansas State knocked the Sooners from the ranks of the unbeaten, 41-34. Nebraska is like the VHS tape in "The Ring." All who come into contact with it are doomed to perish within seven days.

        • Hey, has the B1G kicked out Nebraska yet?

Nebraska Cornhuskers ranked dead last in the Big Ten academically

151st... That ain't bad. It's tied with SDSU which will be in the PAC 12-3 soon.

          • Hey, guys. Did you hear Nebraska lost on a field goal on the last play of the game this last Saturday? Thrilling! For those who aren't counting, Nebraska has lost 37 games since Scott Frost came home in 2018 to return us to glory. 26 of those games have been by one score and another three were within two scores. College football is super fun and exciting!

Let me share a few more details about how fun and exciting that 4th quarter was:
              • Nebraska they had a 7 point lead, the ball, and 1st and 10 at the 5:00 mark and they fumbled it away.
              • Nebraska then managed to force Minnesota into going for it on a 4th and 1 and it looked like the D may have even held, but it was all moot as the Huskers gave up a 15 yard facemask penalty.
              • After Minnesota scored to tie the game with an amazing toe-dragging catch, Nebraska still had the ball on the Minnesota side of the field with 1:00 left, and one timeout in their pocket, 2nd and 8, driving into FG range. Most teams would throw, or even run, to the sidelines to try to move into field goal range. But that kind of game management is too mundane for the Huskers. Instead, the QB throw downfield over the middle into double coverage, and gave up a pick.
              Super exciting!

End of season update! Five more losses by one score this season. Four of those losses were on the literal last play of the game (three game winning field goals as time expired and one overtime loss). This brings the total to 44 games lost since Scott Frost came home to return us to glory, with 31 of those losses by one score. Is this first season under a new coach progress? Is it a setback? Who even knows any more!? See you next fall for the home opener against UTEP!

That is amazing. I can't imagine.

At what point do they let him go?

So if you are referring to Scott Frost, we cut him loose after starting last season 1-2 with the loss to mighty Georgia Southern at home being the straw that broke all backs. Interesting to note that they fired him immediately after that loss instead of waiting 3 more weeks for the buyout to drop from $15 Million to $7.5 million per his previously restructured contract. Apparently the right boosters said get him out now and here is the extra $7.5 million you need to do it.

If you are referring to our new fearless leader, Matt Rhule, I have no idea how long of a rope he will get. Even in this insane world of modern college football, I have to think everyone gets 2 years unless they are just not competing or have a reason outside of team performance to be fired, right? And at a place like Nebraska that hasn't been relevant in literally 20 years, I don't think we can afford to hire a new coach every 2 years. If we every want any chance of building back a fraction of what we had, we have to give up and coming coaches the confidence that Nebraska is a place they will be given a chance to succeed. So I think we have Matt for four years. We will accept any progress at this point. A sixth win and a bowl game would have been a huge celebration. But we lost four in a row to end the season when stuck on 5 wins. Again with two of those being a FG as time expired, one overtime loss, and a loss against Michigain State where we fumbled the ball when driving for the tying FG.

                      • Oh, sorry. I forgot Frost was already gone.

                        Still losing close games. Brutal.
