    Sarkisian going to the Falcons?!?

Sarkisian wasn't that bad with the title game, given the circumstances.

I would hate to follow in the footsteps of Shanahan.

Shanahan made it much easier by blowing the Falcons' penultimate possession. Three drop backs with the game in hand and the opportunity to take time off the clock and well within field goal range?
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I meant to say that I felt Sarkisian probably had a decent future at Alabama, and that he didn't do poorly in the title game. I would think that staying there would be safer than jumping to the NFL right now, though the Alabama job is pretty high-profile as well.

        Edited above.

Seeing where Kiffin landed the upside to the Atlanta job is much higher.

Sark is taking over the best offense in the NFL. If he can maintain that he'll be in line for an NFL head coaching gig. This is a massive opportunity for him. It's crazy that he's come this far only 18 months after being drunk on the sideline of a game.

That's also a lot for a guy with admitted stress problems to handle. College football is a pressure-cooker, and the NFL is only worse. He might crack again.

There's pressure but the pros don't have the recruiting grind. There is player evaluation but that's mostly handled by the GM and his staff. In some ways it's less involved.

I really doubt the pro coaches are spending any less time working, despite the fact that they don't have to deal with recruiting. In fact, I've heard they generally work more. Certainly more is at stake.
