The MWC is really awful this year. Crazy that some fans want to go back there. Lot's of poor teams there this year, and the highest (BSU) is only 52. Lot's of bad football in the west this year:

    52 Boise
    60 SDSU
    65 Air Force
    77 Utah St
    90 Nevada
    92 CSU
    93 New Mexico
    96 SJSU
    104 UNLV
    109 Fresno St
    122 Hawaii
    124 Wyoming

In the conference ratings they are behind the ACC, which is no surprise, but are also behind the MAC. That is pretty bad.

I knew there was something about Westerkamp I didn't like. At first I thought it was the mustache, but now I realize it was the rape.

As the topic of the Pac 12 has come up, Here is the current state of the Pac 12, according to Massey's rating composite:

    12 Stanford
    18 Utah
    20 USC
    26 Oregon
    32 UCLA
    36 Wash St
    39 Cal
    49 ASU
    55 Wash
    62 Arizona
    94 Colorado
    99 Oregon St

The Pac 12 basically only one shot left to elevate the conference - Stanford gets to host Notre Dame. However, Stanford has the rivalry game with Cal this week, while ND gets to play a down BC team. Even then, Pac-12 teams have been too inconsistent this year to make a strong case to qualify for the playoffs. How can you put Stanford over any other 2-loss (or 1 loss) team when it is very likely they will not have beat a composite top 25 team in conference, as any South team would be knocked out with a championship game loss? The rationale gets lower for any other Pac 12 team out there.

I think it mostly means we just don't want utah to win anything. Does it affect BYU? Hardly.

I don't care all that much about winning the WCC either, as we've shown we can make the dance without doing so. All those MWC bball titles did us nothing either. The people who seed these things never cared that we won that league either.

Utah might win their conference? Who knew. I've moved from caring about football to watching basketball.
