    Dumber comment.
FTR, it looks like a really stupid sequel.

OK Care to give us your brilliant thoughts on the state of Utah and BYU football? Surely you have more to add than just pointing out others comments don't meet your standards of excellence.

You don't think Utah's rise has any affect on BYU? Of course it will have consequences. This season is toast and your right, Utah has nothing to do with it. But the boosters and a large part of the fan base will lose interest quickly without some progress.

BYU is having a horrible year. Utah is having a good year. Nobody in the BYU administration is happy for Utah because they believe people confuse Utah with BYU.

            I hope this is clear.

Some knucklehead yesterday said that he hoped BSU would score 70 on us because it would help get Bronco fired and ensure changes are made. Sorry, but this kind of logic is idiotic. Things getting even worse is NOT good for our program. Things getting better is good for our program. Case in point: It wasn't that long ago that some Ute fans were calling for Whit to be fired. Using your defeatist logic, it would have been better for Utah to completely crash and burn. No, it was better for Utah to get better; like they did. Given that BYU has arguably the shallowest pool of coaching candidates in the nation, I can't for the life of me understand why any real fan would want the program to crash so badly that we have to make a coaching change. Crazy talk.

I would trade even more off-the-field issues for more wins. Also I would like to see more JC players and less LDS all-stars.

I didn't say the BYU administration. President Hinckley said the Jazz was good PR for the church. Surely good pub for the U of U would also be good pub. Did you see the Temple during the broadcast? Did you hear them talk about the U's kicker having served a church mission?

It's the best of both worlds. The U can recruit kids that don't have to live to LDS standards, but we (Mormons) get good pub from a good Utah team.

Maybe we just can't climb to the level Utah can. Outside of sports of course we certainly can. It's their choice and if they don't want to make a bigger commitment to athletics I can live with it.

When Whitt chose Utah he said because career potential was higher at Utah. Right now if that was a priority for him he made the right choice.

I am just commenting on the state of affairs when it comes to the football program. Don't try to make my opinions a bigger deal than that. I am sure BYU's Engineering dept is superior to Utah's.

Whoa whoa whoa, slow down there. I didn't say it was good that Utah was winning. I should have said "the only positive thing about..." Its a turd sandwich of a situation right now for sure. The closest i have ever come to calling for personnel changes is saying i hope Bronco doesn't sign another extension. And I'm not 100% sure i even feel about that. But changes are necessary. Why can't Utah's success put pressure on BYU?

Sorry, but you made your post in reply to a comment regarding putting pressure on the BYU coaching staff, so this is clearly in relation to BYU's administration. And your point is still dumb.

Have you ever heard me call for the firing of Bronco? Have you heard me rip on the players? I don't think pressure on the coaches is going to do anything. They are under plenty of pressure.

To be a real BYU fan is one of the requirements to hate Utah. Dislike Whit and get shear joy out of hearing one of their players gets in trouble?

I am not in the mood though to get into a back and forth belittling each other. I am though disappointed that when I asked what your opinion as to the cause for Utah appearing on the rise and us appearing to be declining, your response is to reiterate my point is dumb.

I like Whittingham. However, I think where he is sitting right now it would be well for him to take the high road. I think Utah is doing well. I was surprised to hear they were selling out even through the last few years. However, I do think they won't be playing for the PAC12 Championship and I doubt they win more than two more games. Again, it would be well for him to disengage from banter back and forth with BYU. He doesn't need to.

Utah is completely in the drivers seat if they win next week. they can drop both games to oregon and Stanford and still win their division by beating Arizona and Colorado. I'm starting to worry this is going to happen.
