  • Also, in response to the Dude, let me revise my statement about BYU and non-LDS students. It is not a good place for nearly every non-LDS person. If you had to ask me to put percentage of the non-LDS population that BYU is a good place for, I would put the percentage at about the percentage of LDS students at BYU, 98.7%.

For example, I absolutely acknowledge that BYU was the great place for Trent Hosick even thought he was not LDS. It was an oversight on my part to not state "BYU is a horrible place for nearly every non-LDS person."

See? You don't really need me to do your heavy lifting for you.

So now you are trying to make enemies with Commando, Shaka, and all the other 30+ year old virgins on the board?

Remind me in the future that you aren't normal and I wouldn't mesh with you well IRL.

Enjoy your braided belt, I'm sure it'll make a comeback.

I'm probably closer to the weirdo category than normal and you were able to mesh with me IRL. You underestimate your ability to bridge the gap with weirdos.

I don't own nor do I enjoy a braided belt.

You have obviously lived a very sheltered Utah based life. Do you really think that every non-lds person between 18-24 consume alcohol, have premarital sex and lack morals?

If you believe that only LDS people can follow these rules, why wouldn't you become even more immersed in the religion, especially passing these values on to your children?

The vast majority of individuals 18-24 do consume alcohol and/or have premarital sex. It is comments such as saying someone "lacks morals" because they have premarital sex or have a drink that I don't want to immerse my son too much into the LDS church. I don't want him to think that having a glass or craft beer or wine with a meal means someone "lacks morals."

He needs to get away from BYU as soon as possible. He made a mistake when he signed with BYU, he needs to minimize the damage and get out.

You're just mad because I beat you in Dungeons and Dragons again. Can we still be friends if I admit publicly that you are fantastic at LARPing?

I do think you should teach him that if he drinks craft beer he should find every opportunity he can to bring it up in conversation.

Spend the time working out and preparing for the combine, better than BYU.
Seek out a P5 team that has a need for a RB , better than BYU.
Transfer to a DII school and play immediately to prepare for the NFL, better than BYU.

He needs to get out of the negative environment of BYU/Provo. Unless he did something illegal, which is clear that he didn't, he should be playing for BYU this year. It is unreasonable to expect someone without a religious basis for following the Honor Code to follow it. It is sad to see a good kid punished for being a 20 year old. BYU provides a good environment for some of the LDS population, I don't understand why someone who is not LDS and has other options would want to be there.

Apparently, only the Natty Light drinkers lack morals.
