You realize this means you will now get fewer offensive linemen. I'm not sure how it will impact the nursing students."You interns are like swallows. You shit all over my patients for six weeks and then fly off."

Agreed. Provo is 4300 feet, not 14,300.Originally posted by Coach McGuirk View PostLol, I remember when FSU was totally effected by the elevation. My best marathon was run starting at 5000 feet or so after having traveled from sea level the day before. I think elevation is more of a mental thing than anything else. And it certainly wasn't a factor when UT was getting its ass kicked on the very first drive of the day.Originally posted by San Juan Sun View PostAgreed. ND might have the best DL in the nation -- 2 of their 3 guys are first round picks and the 3rd guy is also really good. Their LBs aren't as good as last year, but that's mostly a coverage issue; they're still really good against the run. I think BYU might do okay, but it'll be very tough sledding if Hill hasn't improved his passing by then.Originally posted by VirginiaCougar View PostI don't want to diminish from what our O-Line accomplished, it was a special performance. It is also true that the Texas front seven are gifted athletes.
But it is naive to think we won't face other very athletic defenses that are better coached, capable of making better adjustments to what we did to Texas. Such changes will open up passing game opportunities IF we can take advantage of it.
It is also a bit naive to not realize how altitude played into the success of the running game. Those athletic players were ill prepared for that, made worse by the go fast offense. Utah won't have that problem.

Into the rivalry game already? I hate to add something so perceptive this early, but here goes. Crowton's first year Doman and Staley were racking up great numbers. I remember before the Utah game a friend of mine who played for USU and knew Kyle real well told me Kyle told him they would be able to shut the BYU offense down and if I remember right they pretty much did.
If I didn't think Kyle was excellent at defense, much like Bronco, I wouldn't be to worried about the game. I think Kyle will do something to take the run game away unless Hill steps it up with his passing.

I agree with you on the coaching aspect. It seems like Kyle should be able to slow a one-dimensional run offense with DEs like Orchard and Reilly. But I keep going back to their lack of talent at LB. I'll be interested to see how he covers for that.Originally posted by byu71 View PostInto the rivalry game already? I hate to add something so perceptive this early, but here goes. This. You can cover a myriad of defensive sins with fast intuitive linebackers and Utah simply doesn't have them.Originally posted by wapiti View PostI agree with you on the coaching aspect. Our front seven is so ridiculous. Bronson, Manemaleuna, Hadley, KVN, Fua and Unga? They're only gaining momentum as they gel and I think they're gonna steamroll Utah's O."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Doman finished with 270 yards passing and 2 tds, Staley finished with 17 carries for 169 yards and 2tds. If that is shutting them down I will take it.Originally posted by byu71 View PostInto the rivalry game already? I hate to add something so perceptive this early, but here goes.
