Do you Heaps apologists realize he is playing against South Dakota? And that his rating at the time of this post early in the 4th is 118? Now he might turn it around late in the fourth quarter against this powerhouse South Dakota team and kick some ass, but for now, he has been terrible.I'm like LeBron James.

I think it's been mentioned by everyone that he's playing SD, so I'm going with a yes! I've flipped back over to that game during BYU breaks, and they haven't thrown at all in the 2nd half. KU's ground game is actually very good. I know this got discussed over and over and everyone gets a PER boner, but all the QB can do is what he's asked, which is read the play and deliver the ball on target. Damn near every one of his pass attempts was right on target. By my count he missed maybe two or three throws in all the attempts I watched. I would guess somewhere around 15 were perfectly delivered balls. He was good and made several throws of which BYU QB's the last two years would have been completely incapable, even against SD St. I'd be interested in what you saw.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostDo you Heaps apologists realize he is playing against South Dakota? But he definitely can't run like Taysom!
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

10-20 5.5 yards per attempt against SD. But yeah, I'm sure he was awesome. I didn't see the game, so I guess I have to trust you. Plus, he's 1-0!Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI think it's been mentioned by everyone that he's playing SD, so I'm going with a yes! Yeah, I noticed they took away a completion, too. weird. I don't know that he was awesome, but he was good. I'll tell you that he threw the ball about 100x better than anything we've seen from Taysom this year (I know, like that's hard!). Made good reads and good throws and the announcers were really glowing about his play despite the results. 4 of the first 12 were perfectly delivered and just dropped, so he started like 1 of 6 or 7 before finally getting it going some, and then they just started running every down once they got up. KU receiving unit is just not very good and I suspect they'll run the ball a lot and ask Heaps to manage and not turn it over.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View Post10-20 5.5 yards per attempt against SD.
