  • Keeping the Sabbath Sort of Holy: The Cougars/LDS Players in the NFL 2013 Thread

This is your one-stop shop for chronicling stats, reporting injuries, disseminating gossip, celebrating major and minor triumphs, and lamenting the inevitable disappointments and (hopefully not too great) embarrassments of our former Cougars and other LDS players in the NFL in 2013.

Two questions to get the ball rolling:

    1. Which LDS player/former Cougar will have the greatest impact this season? Of the new guys, are there any major candidates beyond the trinity of Star, Ziggy, and Manti that you could foresee making some noise? Of the veterans, is Weddle the frontrunner?

    2. Other than Ziggy, who is the former Coug most primed to have a breakout year?

Caveat: I'm really not interested in probing too much into the religious side of the question. I'm not a bean counter. But I'll admit that, once the college game is behind them, I hope that LDS guys who went a non-BYU route do well. I'm a tribalist in that regard.

Bryan Kehl is going to have a breakout season. He's going to be the next Lorenzo Alexander for the Redskins. It was bullshit he was cut last year.

I would like to see Stewart Bradley have a good year for the Broncos.

Yep, forgot about Haloti. Tough to argue against that one.

It helps that his competition at that position just tore his biceps.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
