Ezekiel Ansah: 'I seek for Heavenly Father's guidance' in preparing for NFL career

    vs.

    U. football player kicked off team, charged with assaulting wife
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

And you are above it. Disappointing.
"The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."

"I like to bike. I could beat Lance Armstrong, only because he couldn't pass me if he was behind me."

Perhaps my edges have grown too sharp, which is a weird thought.

Neither story is that meaningful alone, but when placed almost side by side on the Deseret News' website, a potentially combustable combination is created and worth at least some notice IMO. Obviously not all BYU student athletes are prayerfully considering their futures and not all UofUtah student athletes are accused of violent crimes. It could have only been topped had the schools been reversed, and then everyone would have been pointing.

I wonder how much thought the newspaper gave to how this all looks.

"I Couldn't Help Myself." This is your defense of creating such an incredibly sorry thread? I bet even Leota could have come up with a better defense for himself.

This is pretty low by any measure (which is not say that the DN didn't know what it was doing).

Okay, I'm thinking that my previous response was a little intemperate. Apologies, MBN. But I would still say that even the DN was trying to make a point of some kind, there's no need to stoop to their level.

So did he get kicked off the team and then go assault his wife or did he get kicked off the team for assaulting his wife? That headline is very ambiguous.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

That is an awful story. That man deserves some hard time after attempting to kill his wife. What I cannot understand is why mbn is taking so much heat. Does anyone really expect more of him? I certainly don't.

I did. My mistake, I guess.

I think someone gave it some thought.

MBN you should have channeled Dr. King Schultz in the thread title: "I'm sorry, I couldn't resist." I've been using that line on my wife.
