How will BYU do without big Mikey, Shaun and Dylan in the new Cup competition ?

Utah has a new coach Haloti Moala former Ute and Highland coach along with Jon Law after a player did something on campus the University did not appreciate. Not sure of the details but their previous coach always had them in contention at the end of the year.

BYU's reserve team will play in a league with UVU,USU, Salt Lake CC, Dixie,Weber,Snow,SUU and I think Idaho State. BY- I Do has enough students they should field a team for that league.

The BYU womens club team is top five as well.

Ohh how I wish I lived west to watch good rugby.

I didn't realize the coaching had changed at Utah. I've known Haloti and John for a while. Both are good guys. Hopefully they can keep things going.

BYU Rugby had a nice weekend in SoCal. Beat SDSU and whacked UCLA yesterday.

I wish him well and hope he finds peace. He has had a rough go of it since his heyday.

Looks like the Varsity Cup has been announced and the four teams in the east bracket being played in Annapolis at Navy-Marine Corps stadium are Cal,Notre Dame,Dartmouth and Navy. Great chance for east coasters to see Cal. Our family is headed up for that day of rugby.

The west bracket is BYU, Utah, Air Force and UCLA who is hosting the west bracket. The final is being held at BYU. Looks like its on campus instead of Rio Tinto. If its a BYU-Cal final 5,000 seats will sell out in no time.

Btw, BYU lost to one of top post college mens club teams in the nation yesterday in a very close battle. Should serve BYU wel for the Varsity Cup.

BYU as expected beat USU pretty bad yesterday. I really liked the webcast though. Next week BYU plays the mens super league champions New York at Provo and on webcast. Should be fun.

BYU lost today to New York AC 22-16. I watched online and rugby looked rougher then when I played. What a brutal match.

Utah next week. It is an away match that I think is being played at Murray Park. No web stream for this match. Utah got beat by UCLA.

BYU beats UCLA in opening round Varsity Cup action. Central Washington who replaced Utah comes to Provo after crushing Air Force. Navy plays Cal on the road and the winners of these two matches meet in Provo for the final.

What is the date for the final? I'd like to go and bring some boys from my son's team.

Hostile, May 4th. South Field. I would see about buying tickets sooner then later. Cal - BYU final was last held at Rio Tinto and they sold 20,000 seats. This year it is being held on campus at BYU where the max seating is 5,000.

Both BYU and Cal win so they play in the final next weekend in Provo at South Field. Tickets are already on sale.
If I was a betting man I'd pick Cal. They seem to be on a mission this year. My hope is BYU wins the match.
