With Chizik out at Auburn maybe we can get Grimes back.Originally posted by A-Train View PostI hope that the positions are not limited to LDS only coaches or former BYU players. I think it would be good for BYU to find a hungry young coach from the SEC to coach the O-Line. I want him mean and nasty with the ability to substitute the F Bomb with Freak and Frick.

Couple things here. First, a lot of people agreed with cougjunkie. Many disagreed, but if everybody left who at some point or another had an unpopular opinion (again, assuming it was an unpopular opinion, which I'm not sure it was - just giving your comment the benefit of the doubt), PAC might be the only guy posting on this site.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostHe told everyone Riley was fool's gold last year when people were championing the Riley Express. But a Prophet is honored everywhere except in his home land, so he disappeared. Now he's taking the high road instead of coming back to gloat. Somewhere a faint "swish" can be heard in the distance...
Second, he can come back without coming back to gloat. Some of his best posts were non college football posts. Hell, he could come back to gloat and people - I'm one of them - would shout hosannas just because he's back even if he went out of his way to be an asshole about the whole thing.
If you're going to make excuses for cougjunkie's leaving this place, you'll have to do a whole hell of a lot better than that weak shit.I'm like LeBron James.

I think CJ is just smarter than most of us as evidenced by the fact that finally had enough of this hellhole and had the good sense and discipline to stay away.

CJ's added value in these parts is unique - but wasn't this a fairly common assessment made by many including MarkGrace?Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostHe told everyone Riley was fool's gold last year when people were championing the Riley Express.
P.S. - ah just saw the SMR already made a similar point above.Ute-ī sunt fīmī differtī

Gordon Jolley interviewed for the offensive line position at least once in the last few years.Originally posted by byu71 View PostRiley's era is over. I think it is time to move on and stop beating up on the guy for coaches decisions. Even if he talked them into it, it is the coaches fault for letting the employee's dictate what is done.
I wish Weber the best, but think he should move on. I hope there is a way to find proven OL coach, not a guy who has little experience. I am not holding my breath.
As far as Doman goes, I would be OK keeping him as long as he realizes he is on the hot seat.
Played 6-7 years in the NFL, coached offensive line at Dixie, as well as coaching the baseball team to the JC World Series.
Gordon was also teaching mathematics at Dixie. Very smart, very experienced. Don't know if he is still interested, but think he would have been excellent, but I am biased.

Not coaching but we need to shore up our offensive line depth regardless of the coach. Time to raid the JC ranks. One we should look at is Ryan Mulitalo who was at BYU but ended up at Snow for two seasons due to factors unrelated to football.

Well if he is any good and went to Snow after committing to BYU, that means he is headed to Utah.Originally posted by Shaka View PostNot coaching but we need to shore up our offensive line depth regardless of the coach. I know Ryan but haven't talked to him in a year. I caught a couple of Snow games last season and he was doing very well. He's a BYU guy but if this has been a good year I could see him going elsewhere.Originally posted by A-Train View PostWell if he is any good and went to Snow after committing to BYU, that means he is headed to Utah.

Four things are guaranteed to happen this offseason:
1- The guys are going to have the best Spring Practice ever
2- The new offseason workout program will completely open the eyes of the players in terms of how they eat and train. They'll go into fall camp in the best shape of their lives. Dick Harmon may even write an article on the subject.
3- Offseason workouts will be bring the players closer together and give the team visions of an explosive offense.
4- Coaches will be amazed at the proficiency of the team during fall camp and they may even get a day or two of rest because of their amazing progress up to that point.

Max Hall is the new OC, assuming he can beat out Riley.Originally posted by All-American View PostHere's the place to discuss coaching changes and other preparation for the 2013 season. (Yes, BYU technically has a game left, but oh well.)
Doman and Weber are in the hot seat. Some new blood is likely to come in. Max Hall appeared to be taking on a more significant role as the season went on-- does he become an official full-time member of the staff? Any changes on the defensive coaching staff?
With the starting QB position apparently Hill's to lose, who will compete for the spot, and what will happen with the backups? What will an Alisa-Williams backfield look like? Will KVN or Hoffman stick around? (Will we somehow find that Ziggy has an extra year?)
Here's to putting a lackluster 2012 behind us.
Edit: I see that I was about the last person to make the OC Riley joke. Assuming its a joke.Last edited by Cougarmandias; 11-26-2012, 09:51 AM.I think, perhaps, the only person who hates BYU fans more than ute fans hate BYU fans, is Bronco Mendenhall.
