30% for 7 years? Yowza. Obviously SMU deal is even worse, but they are just happy to be there.

Stanford and Cal should have just parked in the MWC and continued to wine and dine the B10

Aren't they now stuck in the ACC for 13 years? That GOR is bonkers.

Yeah. Someone pointed out that Stanford (as part of the PAC) was offered $30 million, countered for $50 million, and is now taking $10 million FOR SEVEN YEARS!

ACC had and still has them over a barrel.

10 million? The ACC isn't getting 30 million per team, are they? I thought their deal was in the 20s

I think their TV deal pays out pretty close to the Big 12 right now, but is locked in for lower escalations through the contract termination next decade.

How on earth is Cal going to service their debt? Travel alone will gobble up most of any revenue they get.

I think it is all crazy, but my OCD tendencies would love college football to settle in on 4 conferences with 18 teams for a total of 72 teams competing at the top level. 9 teams per division. Division champs decided via round robin. 3 games each year vs teams from the other division in your conference-so you see everyone on the other side every 3 years and host everyone every 6. Conference Championship games to determine 4 teams who get byes in the NCAA tourney. Teams can also play one OOC game every year vs a team from the other 3 conferences- so everyone in an average life ought to see their team play all the other 72 teams in college football at least once! Just need Big 12 to add SDSU and Boise State. The ACC needs to lose FSU and Clemson to the SEC and backfill with Tulane and South Florida and we are off and running!

California is the 5th largest economy in the world! Cal's debt is budget dust.

Maybe the same way SMU is going to do it. SMU has some deep pockets behind them that is going to pony up the money (a lot of money) to get them into the P5 (or is it P4 now?) club.
