I will take 5-7 years of Reid coaching. Doman might actually learn something. Yes, he might die on the job, but I would happily roll the dice on that.

      Same.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Reid is hired and Bronco stays on as assistant head coach and DC, Nephi doesn't have to talk to the media anymore, Doman improves, Andy gets gastric bypass...It's all coming together!

I think Reid would be a mistake. I'd be happy if he never sniffs an interest in Provo.

I don't think Reid is hireable as a head coach. I don't know if this is true or not, but I've been told by a friend in his ward that he has not been active for some time. I have no idea if this is true or not, but it seems it would be a dealbreaker for the powers that be. Also, I think the Reid family should take some time away from football. They lost a son to drug addiction, another has had similar problems in the past, and they need time to reconfigure and mourn, IMO.

Not to pile on, but Andy Reid couldn't manage a college team. There're too many non-field issues he'd have to manage and well, his non-field issues right now are a hot mess.

The idea that Reid wants to go around trying to talk 17 year old kids into coming to BYU is laughable.

I know Reid will get canned this season, but KL is right. Reid is still dealing with real tragedy, not to mention his other son's lingering legal issues. I think some time off would do him good.

Not to totally dismiss your friend's comments but Andy works on most Sundays.

That makes sense, and I think that's why I questioned the comment myself. When you work 26 Sundays a year, it's easy to see how you could be labelled "inactive".

Until the punt at Notre Dame, I agreed with you. That was the straw that broke the Bronco's back.

I love him as a defensive coordinator, but he's not very good at game management...

Given BYU's inherent, imutable challenges, I think your current coach has done a dandy job. (He almost beat the no. 1 ranked team in the country this year!) BYU also belongs in the MWC.

What is this impulse to fix what's not broken? I thought the LDS Church was supposed to impart a feeling of well-being.

It's so cute you'd like us to go back to that disaster of a conference with our tails between our legs.

                                No thanks.
