I watched the entire Boise game on TV, and attended this game with a good friend of mine. A grand total of 22 points were scored.

The new speakers are really loud when you're very close to them.

BYU's fanbase is younger and more blonde than Utah's.

After the game, we saw a mini-bottle of Popov on the ground. If you're gonna sneak alcohol into a stadium, make it worth your while!

As for the game, I would love to see Hoffman and Ansah in a Utah uniform. And looking at yardage, BYU was unlucky to only score a TD.

Had to go to work for an overnight shift after halftime, check the final score on a break, and wow, 6-3? Just odd considering that one TD was a Gary Anderson prevent special, although BYU probably should have won this game 14-3 or 17-3 or something along those lines.

Like a poster said earlier, BYU's special teams is a joke.

Things I thought about this game.

A-Hoffman is very very good WR. Solid hands, strong, blocks on the edge. I like him a lot. He reminds me a lot of Lavasier Tuinei.

2-Hill has a chance to be a nice QB, he made some freshman mistakes but nothing that makes you cringe. I think Williams also fits in this category. Williams is more impressive though because he is 17 years old.

C-I am glad that BYU is letting the kids have cool stuff with the unis, pink accessories, black out, etc.

4--BYU has the worst kicking special teams in football. I feel confident saying that having not seen all 124 FBS teams. I have always held a low opinion of kickers and not found a reason to trust them anyway.

E-I am not sure how good USU's offense is, probably not really good, but a shutout followed by allowing 3 points is awesome regardless of opponent. There are some playmakers in the front 7, with at least 2 guys that will play on Sunday.

6-This was a boring football game. Still infinitely better than playoff baseball.

Sure the kicking was embarrassing, but what could have made a real difference is an offensive line that didn't embarrass themselves every single down. If they're not failing to block properly they're racking up penalties and killing drives single-handedly. Also, I hate to say it, but that Ridley personal foul killed that drive that could have locked up the game earlier. We eliminate the penalties and practice kicking we score 17 more points a game at least. I mean look how many yards we get with so few points.

Well, I'm glad I didn't stay up for the second half of that. Not even sure I'll go back and watch it.

Weber is gone after this year.

Off to run for a really long time!

I really wish at this point that Bronco would get over his man crush on Riley. Like I said previously, we wasted a day of practice on Nelson. In a shortened week, giving Taysom as much time with the first team was critical. I hate that Riley is still QB1 and as soon as his back is able he is the man.

As for the game, our defense is just plain filthy. Bronco for all of his faults deserves all the praise for their play. And not just their play but his patience and recruiting of guys like KVN and Ansah. And props to Kaufusi and everyone else involved with the defense (even Nick Howell, though he really needs to coach up PHad on getting his hips around. He has some poor technique and it allows guys to get behind him despite his 15 yard bump). In 6 games they have given up just 3 TDs. That is ridiculous even if the competition hasn't been great. KVN is one sack shy of leading the country. As a team BYU is 5th in the country in sacks despite dropping 8 often. They're also 3rd in passes deflected. The most yards we've given up all year was 261 to Boise State. Going back to last season I think we have a long string of holding teams under 300 yards. This is the best defense at BYU, ever.

Taysom played well. It's hard to fault him for much. His offensive line is terrible. They had an awful game. But credit to Utah State who has a really good defense. And in the OL's defense I will say that it is extremely difficult to block for mobile QBs in pass protection. This is why I say Weber needs to go. He has yet to adapt the line play and schemes to the obvious offensive style we've adopted. Hoffman after looking surly last week came out to play tonight. I was glad. Nice to see Taysom find Friel. Play calling was conservative with reason, but then downright nutty at times. I did like that we took some shots downfield though. I think Hill proved he has twice the arm Nelson does. Last week we ran that sweep out of the shotgun with great success. The first time we ran it last night Foote gained like 5-6 yards. Then we didn't see it again. WTH? Doman gets a D+ for this game overall. Not taking a knee and running a QB draw at the end that obviously hurt Taysom was stupid.

Bronco needs to assign someone to the special teams full time. Stephenson and Sorenson have zero confidence right now. It was a mistake to not attempt kicks on those other trips in the redzone. We needed something to get these kids' back in the game. The fake call was terrible. If you're not going to kick there, line up and put the ball in your best player's hands to get in the endzone. Dumb. They should have just kicked it. It was about 5 yards away from being a PAT. That's the perfect kind of kick to get Sorenson's confidence up and put points on the board. Stephenson was MIA last night until his last punt.

I think Riley will be back next week. He will get all of the first team reps during the week. The fan base will be beside themselves. But sometime in the next two games he will get knocked out again. I've just come to terms with the fact that Riley will be back. With as anemic as our offense is I find it hard to think we will pull off a win the next two weeks regardless of who is at QB.

This is one of the best defensive 8 I've ever seen.

Bench Riley. We need Taysom ready for ND, whom we can beat

Doman is pretty much a ruh-tard when it comes to some basic scheming.

Hill can throw the ball; he has two dominant WRs with a sold TE. This should be easy but Doman is not good

Next yr a family member will be the place kicker and it will get a lot better

If only Hill could have that great OL that understood mobile QB pass protection and run blocking for Riley! Instead all that great effort and games against bad defenses were wasted on Nelson. Unfortunate.

Yep, we're going to need a defensive score or two and to force a bunch of turnovers in each of the next two weeks to get a win.
