It is a mistake to give an injured QB the majority of reps during any practice especially if it is highly questionable that he will start. There is a difference between a few reps and talking more than half the reps which is what Nelson did this week. Hill needs every rep can get at this point because even if Riles comes back he won't last. He never has.Dyslexics are teople poo...

I don't get why it's weird. Hill has either outplayed him or played him even. He's younger, so you go to him either way. Common sense, imo.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI've never understood that one either. Last year during fall camp he was reportedly very close to overtaking Riley for the backup spot. Then Heaps comes get benched, Riley gets the starting gig, but when Riley has struggled they've never even thought of Lark. Weird.
Granted common sense has been inconsistent with byu's coaches, but when it seems they got it right, I'm not complaining.I'm like LeBron James.

Lark is not a mobile QB and the coaches are now in love with the idea of a QB that runs. It sucks, but Lark does not fit our system anymore.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI've never understood that one either. Healthy Riley is a competitive QB. Since he shouldn't have been playing due to injury vs Utah and BSU I'd say the jury is still out.Originally posted by Maximus View PostI got you still think riley is a good qb (he is when he plays teams without a defense )But the team needs to move on to developing the future when hill is at worst equal to a healthy Riley.

You may be right, but I don't think we know this from public sources. It was widely reported that Hill got all the reps on Monday (Jay Drew in this case):Originally posted by Surfah View PostMaybe not for the week overall, but he did in at least one practice.
On Tuesday Taysom said reps were split (again widely reported) . I am unaware of any statement that specified what that split looked like: 30/70, 50/50, and 70/30? After that I believe that public sources have been silent. Did I miss something?Bronco: "Riley is still beat up. Taysom took all the reps today, and it will be similar to last week."
Now, I don't doubt there are multiple people here with good inside information, but inside information like that is at best noisy which means there is still a fair amount of uncertainty (outside of Monday) about the split of reps between the two (unless I have missed an important public source about the split of reps).Last edited by pelagius; 10-05-2012, 04:40 PM.
