  • NCAAF Week Three Open Thread: Ducks V Cats, Irish v 'rines etc

Night matchups are sick. Kind of annoying that ALL of the best games are in the evening.

All matchups featuring two ranked teams:

    #10 Clemson @ #4 Florida St (8:00 ET)
    #22 Arizona @ #3 Oregon (10:30 ET)
    #15 KSU @ #6 OU (7:50 ET)
    #18 Michingan @ #11 ND (7:30 ET)

    Others of interest:

    Oregon St at #19 UCLA
Cal at #13 USC (6:00 PM)
    Mizzou @ #7 South Carolina (3:30 ET)
    Virginia @ #17 TCU (12:00 ET)
Miami @ Ga Tech (3:00 ET)
Colorado @ Wash St (4:00 ET - here I use the phrase "of interest" very loosely)
Utah St @ Colorado St (7:00 PM ET)
    Utah @ ASU (10:00 ET)
    Nevada @ Hawaii (10:30 ET)

Fascinating matchup for SU: Georgetown @ Princeton - TONIGHT - WHEN DID GEORGETOWN GET A FOOTBALL TEAM???

      My picks:

Noles crush the Paws by at least 3 TDs.
Arizona plays Oregon tough, but loses by 2 TDs.
KSU smacks OU in a close one.
ND beats Michigan and pulls into the top 10.
UCLA's rebirth continues win a beatdown on OSU.
WSU wins over Colorado because I want them to.
Arizona St wipes the smile off of Suspender Boy's face.
Nevada tops Hawaii in a shootout.

Finally: Princeton by 30 pts plus over Georgetown.

Kind of strange that Baylor does a home-and-home with ULM.

Maybe BYU should ask Baylor for a home-and-home -- not sure if Baylor will agree to play non-Christians but it's worth a shot.

Baylor just came to the Big Mac last season.

Sure I was there and saw that obsequious RGIII Heisman banner. I was there when Baylor played us in football in the 80s, too. Just kidding about the Mormon thing even though I think it's true that they don't hire LDS professors as a policy.

Edit: Found an interesting source for that.

What are the Utah County CUFers smoking tomorrow? And which one wants to invite me over to watch the Duck game?

One thing I like about Utah, 80 MPH speed limits. :emoticonofguyspinningincircleswithjoy:

I swear to God, in the span of two minutes the ESPN crew covering the TCU game referred to Coach Patterson as "Dave" and "Jerry". They also butchered Fabuluje's pronunciation.

Actually kind of digging them - and I'm not usually into all of the Oregon/Maryland style new-fangling.

I forgot to mention - if you liked Georgetown v Princeton (tip of the cap to Hoyas - my first prediction of the weekend is wildly wrong as Gtown upended Princeton on a last second FG - incidentally, Steve Atwater's sons were on opposing sides in this one, riveting subplot!) then you'll like Yale v Cornell on right now -

with BYU's own Blaine Fowler calling the game!!
