I don't know which one said it yesterday, but there was a line, "Nothing frustrates a coach more than when a kicker kicks the kickoff out of bounds."
That's moronic. I can think of at least 568 things more frustrating than that picayune peccadillo."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.
The rest of us rarely bother to think about our actions." --Solon

is anyone here (I mean besides 71 and LA Ute) really old enough to remember Paul James and the way he called a game?Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

I listened to him, painful though it was, for all road games throughout the 70s and into the 80s. When I moved back to the Bay Area in '79, the only way I could pick up BYU day games was with a "sideband" receiver I was able to purchase. Worth every penny.

you're so young at heart that I forgot you could fit that demographic.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post

I have vague memories of PJ. I remember Utah students used to toilet paper his house the night before the game and I remember when he retired, but at that age I wasn't interested in listening to a game on the radio when I could just as likely go to it or watch it on tv.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

I posted this in the wrong thread earlier.
I hate that Greg Wrubell has embraced the screaming touchdown call, but other than that, I think he is one of the best out there when it comes to the nuts and bolts of his job."It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. 568 things worse than gift-wrapping field position after gaining momentum? I would be curious to see that list.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostI don't know which one said it yesterday, but there was a line, "Nothing frustrates a coach more than when a kicker kicks the kickoff out of bounds."

I have listened to the screamer since the Mtn. Is he down to just screaming at TDs? If so that is manageable. For a long time he was screaming on 4 yard runs up the middle, incomplete passes, 14 foot jump shots, basically screaming all the time.Originally posted by kccougar View PostI posted this in the wrong thread earlier.

What I remember most about PJ was that he seemed obsessed with obscure statistics. It was comical at times. I met him once, seemed like a really nice guy. Wrubell is very hard to listen to, IMO.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post
