The only time I have ever gambled was on a horse race at Turf Paradise in Phoenix. My father-in-law was running a horse, but not on that day. It was fun to take in an environment I had never been in before, see the horses and jockeys up close, and learn about betting types and strategies. For my one and only bet, I won $30 on a $5 bet. But the success wasn't sweet enough to get me hooked. I bought dinner for us with the winnings, and haven't bet anything else since. I'm too risk-averse to get into gambling with real money.Comment
