This is the quote that irked most people:
When we came here I was excited for another adventure. Most people think this is Bronco’s dream job, but he didn’t go to BYU as a student. I would be OK with going somewhere else — in fact, I’d love the challenge of something new.

Even though the BYU job would be a dream job only for a small cadre of LDS coaches, that's not a great thing for any coach's wife to say.

I disagree. The idea that coaches' family members are somehow beholden to the same rah-rah mentality about the school/program/job being first, second and last is insane.

We compensate coaches nicely for their efforts and personal sacrifices they make, but I didn't realize that taking away their family members' desire to look ahead and perhaps do something different -- and expressing that sentiment -- was part of the deal as well.

Ok, that's poor PR. I don't buy Bronco's über Mormon shctick one bit, either.

She made herself fair game for fair criticism. I won't kill brain cells by going there but I'm sure even the worst criticism was not offensive given how tightlypatrolled that joke of a place is.

The thing is that it fuels the perception everyone already had of Bronco.

I said it is not a great thing for a coach's wife to say. She's certainly free to want to say it and to say it. Leave that poor straw man alone! He hasn't done anything!

Her comments shouldn't elicit more than a ripple of notice. CB went overboard in a major way.
