  • Greatness trumps consistently good

This list illustrates why the "Bronco is consistent" point fails.

Long after the Fall of the American Empire what Whit has already achieved will be remembered. Bronco's two MWC titles and Las Vegas bowls are already nearly forgotten; they were only ever hardly noticed outside the Mountain West. In the final analysis, BYU's tradition is essentially built on 2-3 seasons. Utah's is the same.
When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

So a National Championship trumps all. Sweet!

I don't think there are many that disagree with you. That is why you see so much unrest by a large segment of BYU fans, despite 3 straight 10 win seasons. None of those teams have really been great, or in the case of 2006 didn't earn/get the chance to prove they were great.

I would rather be consistent and have high moral standards than be great without them.

Are you ever serious? I've had it with your shtick.

I get your point, but don't you find that list to be a bit troublesome? It contains some of the most classic contemporary literature out there. Kind of a weird way to prove an easily-provable point.

That's my point. These people will be remembered because of a single classic. Clearly you didn't get my point.

Are you comparing Bronco's 10 win seasons to the literary equivalent of writing Gone With the Wind or To Kill a Mockingbird? If so, that is a poor comparison.

I would equate Bronco's past 3 years to a paperback version of The Da Vinci Code......pedestrian yet interesting, worth checking out once but little staying power in the grand scheme of things.

Utah's BCS bowls are like a great act of plagiarism. Trying to be something that they really are not, ultimately dismissed as a hack job, and nobody takes it seriously while they are reading it.

LOL, while my shtick isn't one that would make the hall of fame, yours isn't as great as you think it is. As a matter of fact, your shit does stink as much as everyone elses.

You should have gone Angels & Demons.

Yesterday you thought corn rows were still in, then today you drop the ball on a pop culture reference. You are slipping my friend.

I think you are out of shtick. Or shtick out of luck.

Just the words I was looking for. Thanks.

There are five BCS bowl games every year. You're up in the night if you think anybody outside of Utah will care in the years to come that Utah happened to win one of them on two separate occasions.

I live in TN, and I care.

And, we will have a lot more than 2 in the years to come.
                            I intend to live forever.
                            So far, so good.
