Are these people still with the mtn, or have they moved on?
You left out Todd Christiansen. I'll likely never again hear a football broadcaster drop the word cognescenti. He'll be missed.

The quality was shit, but it was really awesome to see constant replays of games in the summer.

It was frustrating there in 2006 and 2007 not being able to see the games, though.

Todd Christensen is a super duper nice guy who actually talks exactly the same way he does color commentary. That doesn't mean it's not annoying, but he really does talk that way in his day to day conversations.

I missed two seasons of BYU football because of the mtn. When it finally came on directv I was happy with it, but I missed that 2006 year and the year after

Yeah, for many of us outside the Mountain West it was wonderful to be able to have access via the mtn. Now ESPN and BYUtv are taking care of us.

I think KL made a good point about the role mtn played in showing the value of BYU. But let's not forget the contributions of the amazing HD truck.

              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I'm still kind of pissed at the HD truck for it's shenanigans last fall; keeping BYU out of the Big 12 and stuff like that.

With the demise of MTN does it make BYU's jump look premature?

The mtn sucked. After moving out of state I didn't get to see jack shit of BYU sports except the few games televised on CBSsports, VS, or ESPN. Like Creek, JustinTV and other online streaming sites were my go to.

BYU's departure hastened the departure of others, so it was a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Having BYU probably would have kept the channel afloat and extended the agony. So no.

I saw virtually every football and basketball game for 3 years straight, the MTN contract was a big reason why. Over the last 3 years of our ESPN contract, I saw a significantly lower percentage of the games on TV.

The current ESPN contract is much, much better than our previous ESPN contract.

Good riddance. The mtn effectively removed my ability to see almost any BYU game. The exceptions were the away games broadcast on some other network and the 1, maybe 2 games that got on versus each year. This is after games being available on ESPN premier packages in the previous years and church satellites. The mtn was horrible for those of us outside the mountain west region, and that isn't even considered the awesome production quality.
