Nice, informative piece by Ted Miller about DeVonte Christopher. Miller always does a great job. The local sports guys in Utah would do well to emulate him.

With a healthy Wynn, DeVonte Christopher should shine this year. His comments about Jon Hays last year and how it impacted his "touches" was classy all the way. DC is a team player all the way and I hope he has a great senior season.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostNice, informative piece by Ted Miller about DeVonte Christopher. Yes, Ted Miller is very classy, as 3D said he would be. I think the high quality of his blogs will continue this coming year.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostVery classy, articulate guy. I didn't get an invite?CAMPAIGN FOR UTAH ATHLETICS
The most ambitious fund-raising campaign in the history of Utah athletics kicks off Saturday night after the Red-White game with a dinner for the athletic department's biggest donors. Director of Athletics Dr. Chris Hill will officially announce the Campaign for Utah Athletics, which hopes to raise $150 million from Utah fans around the world. In attendance at Saturday's dinner will be University President Dr. David Pershing, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott, ESPN reporter Holly Rowe, former Ute greats Eric Weddle, Luther Elliss, Missy Marlowe, Kim Smith and Tyrone Medley, Ute coaches and the department's top 150 donors.
I hope a basketball practice facility is forthcoming. I believe we might be the only PAC-12 School without one.

Not sure about whether we're the only school without one, but here's the priority list for facilities upgrades:Originally posted by Scorcho View PostI didn't get an invite?

Softball field
Soccer field
Basketball practice facility
Tennis courts
Pool renovation.
The basketball practice facility will be located in what is now the HPER. The programs now in the HPER will move as soon as the new rec center is completed, which is scheduled to happen in 2014. The basketball facility will be put in after that happens. I'm don't know what structural changes will be made to the current HPER, but I understand everyone involved (including Krysko) thinks the result will be a first-rate practice facility. Finally!
NOTE: I'm hearing rumors about a RES revision that would add 10,000 seats and some more boxes. According to rumors, that project would not be subject to the above pecking order.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Athlon releases its Pac 12 RB rankings. Intravenous John comes in at a very respectable third. I think #1 is obvious (Green Mamba) followed by #2 (Barner), so that puts him in pretty solid company. He should have another solid year this season.

#1 is obvious because we all know how overrated Thomas is as a tailback. Barner is the better back and should be #1. But this season will tell the story.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostAthlon releases its Pac 12 RB rankings. Intravenous John comes in at a very respectable third. Quick question for ute or other PAC fans...
The utes didn't play Oregon or Stanford last year and apparently don't play them again this year. Why does the PAC schedule like that? Is it so they can keep the home and home series simple, perhaps?I'm like LeBron James.

My totally speculative theory is that it was a bone thrown to Utah as compensation for having to phase in to revenue participation.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View Post#1 is obvious because we all know how overrated Thomas is as a tailback.
