Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.

Any sufficiently complicated platform contains an ad hoc, informally-specified, bug-ridden, slow implementation of half of a functional programming language.
- Variation on Greenspun's Tenth Rule

Websters defines tradition as: 1.The transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way.
2.A long-established custom or belief that has been passed on in this way.
Big difference.
Stealing is stealing.

So BYU limits their stealing to slogans. Good to know. Although, I'm somewhat concerned that the use of the Penn State growl at LES may actually may be a tradition. Webster's certainly wouldn't define it as a slogan, but they also may not define it as a tradition either.

STFU. We stole that from Janet Jackson's "Black Cat", not Penn State.

Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Its not stealing. Baylor wasn't using the slogan anymore. They were practically giving it away.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I will have you know that the cougar growl is all Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation. Penn State has no bearing on it.
When I was an undergrad, someone wrote a letter to the Daily Universe suggesting that the entire stadium react with an extended menacing paw motion whenever that growl was played. The tradition never caught on.
So this sad lady stole this from the original Old lady and Ute fans are supposed to give a shit? I'm just glad I didn't have to see it on Friday. The NEZ was far too entertaining for me to pay attention to anything happening near the band. I'll add some pics to the threads thread later.

Crazy Lady actually got permission from Bubbles.
Col. Klink: "Staff officers are so clever."
Gen. Burkhalter: "Klink, I am a staff officer."
Col. Klink: "I didn't mean you sir, you're not clever."

I was at BYU when the first introduced that at the MC. Not sure if it was a Robbie or Randy Reid led team. It sounds dumb now (and was probably dumb then) but it really brought a great energy to an otherwise stagnant building when they first used it.
Looks like the Crazy Lady will no longer be terrifying fellow attendees by shaking her aging bits.
I have never thought of her as an end of 3rd quarter dancer. More like a end of 1st quarter dancer or start of the halftime dancer. I hope that she stays on. I don't want to see her sad.

Just so we know, can you fill us all in on all of the BYU traditions? I know that there is popcorn popping singing and that is timeless...but I am seriously curious as to the other unique BYU traditions.
