On the day that we got destroyed by Hawaii in 2002, I think I hated the Rainbow Warrior more than I have hated all people put together in my whole life.

Does that include this years numbers? The attendance has taken a significant hit this year. 37,000 was the highest mark they hit in a game this year. Being in the WAC without Boise State, and only having Colorado and BYU be the big names is hurting them as well. Maybe them going to the MWC will help them.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostHawaii has lead the WAC in attendance 5 years in a row averaging close to 37,000. Their peak under June Jones was 41,000 so not that big of a drop off.
I remember when I read reports that Hawaii wanted to go independent last year.

Truly a classic moment in Cougar sports history...the amount of shock that came after that outburst caught on camera was epic! I recall Rex got suspended for the next game...ND I think! I was a student at that time and the Daily Universe was full of self-righteous vitriol with calls for the end of the program. Thanks for bringing up great memories YO! I am channeling my inner Byron as we speak!Originally posted by YOhio View PostThis week we are all Byron Rex.

I'm kind of worried about Hawaii's 6'1" 245 pound freshman running back Joey Iosefa from American Samoa. I watched Hawaii's games against Colorado and San Jose State and this dude is a beast.

Could be a long night with Pendelton out. Although wiht the backup QB playing this game we'll likely be able to provide more run support and it appears Hawaii still rarely runs the ball. Hopefully Van Noy has a field day blowing up screens and spending all sorts of time in the back field.Originally posted by BemidjiCoug View PostI'm kind of worried about Hawaii's 6'1" 245 pound freshman running back Joey Iosefa from American Samoa. FTR, I never saw the 2001 game. I lived on campus (Wymount) and we didn't have ESPN so we listened to it on the radio. That was a sickening game, especially since we had already found out we would not be going to a BCS game regardless of the outcome of that game."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. But I watched it at a friends house."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

Cougs 8 point favorites. I think BYU either wins by 10+ or loses by >14 (fearless prediction). Hopefully, Bronco's no-fun attitude and a Hawaiian fireside will do what Lavell and Crowton usually weren't, have BYU ready to play at kickoff.

Unfortunartely, I lived at Wymount too at the time. I couldn't wait to get out, and we did, just way too Utah mormony for us, even then.Originally posted by Moliere View PostAll my friends lived in Wymount within a 500 foot radius of my apartment
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.
