Why force things? It's as if there is a huge void you need to fill. Don't do that; just allow things to evolve. In time the appropriate nature of this annual game will emerge and a name will be affixed.
Patience.
Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
My HS band covered that song. I still recall playing at the band stand in Liberty Park on an unexpectedly rainy day with our audience consisting only of our girlfriends and some old drunk hippie with his big old dog who begged us to play this song again and again. Because no one else was there, we played it 4 or 5 times in a row. It made him very happy.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock
SU, I do think it's cute that you're manufacturing so much excitement about your new "rivalry." It reminds me of my daughter explaining all the details about her imaginary friends.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Apparently this is what US News has to say about the Utes:
The Utah sports teams, the Utes, compete in the NCAA Division I PAC-12 Conference and are rivals with Brigham Young University’s teams.
Apparently this is what US News has to say about the Utes:
"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

In the spirit of transparency, here is what US News saw fit to include in its brief blurb about BYU
All students live according to a strict honor code, which prohibits—among other things–camping with members of the opposite sex and growing a beard without a doctor’s approval. Extramarital and gay sex are also prohibited.
SU is playing you guys like a fiddle. Do you guys really need us as part of your identity, or does it just sting that we don't need you as part of ours as much?

Yes, nobody sees what he is doing. How embarrassing.

I'll be honest, UD. There's a hole in my soul this week. I would be just fine with us not being in the same conference, so long as it were guaranteed that we would play the last week of the season every year. It sucks to see one of the best rivalries in the nation be kicked to the curb like ours has been.

It's a classic rock and roll song that will endure. Perfect for the Rivalry theme song. I wonder what the royalty would cost.
When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Juxtaposed against a bye, I can see why BYU fans would be bummed.
Utah fans OTOH, will happily watch our game to see if John White breaks the school's single season rushing record and if Utah can beat CU.
We will then watch the ASU/Cal game hoping for a Cal win.
Should that happen, we'll tune into the USC/UCLA game hoping USC does what it should and take care of the Bruins.
If things go well for Utah this weekend, the Utes will be headed to the Euge to get their heads handed to them on a platter or maybe squeak their way into the Rose Bowl.
I'm actually very excited about this weekend. It's great to be part of a conference!
