  • Back to the BCS title game, my personal view is that teams that are not conference champions need not apply. An all-SEC matchup (or all-PAC-12, B1G, whatever matchup) is not something I want to see. People spend all year talking smack about which conference is best, and the title game should be the place to show it.

I'd like to see a playoff with all conference champions, to tell the truth. Everybody else keeps to bowl games with no meaning. And who cares if you get OOC rematches? No team is the same now as it was during week one.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

What he is arguing is the Patriots were really the best team in the NFL last year, so despite the fact that they lost in the playoff they should move on.

I don't have a problem with him wanting Alabama to remain second, if someone saw that game and thought those were clearly the two best teams in the country and they should stay 1-2 that is how cfb goes. I just think he sounded like a complete maroon by saying it was a playoff so Alabama shouldn't fall. Use that USC education Marcus and make an argument for why they are the second best team and deserve to stay there, while you are the host of the Pac 12 halftime show.
That's like Funk's argument about baseball playoffs and why he's so pissed Saint Louis won.

      • The main reason I don't want a rematch is because both of those teams are dirty effing cheaters. Signing the equivalent of an extra recruiting class every 4 or 5 years is a much bigger advantage than any of these improper benefits scandals that teams like USC and OSU are dealing with.

Sure, the SEC is the best conference. They'd better be, given their enormous advantage over every other conference. I still have to laugh that Ole Miss, one of the worst offenders, still can't manage to field even a mediocre team, or, for that matter, that LSU can't find a decent QB.

        • HFN is upset at me over something Marcus Allen said? Who cares what Marcus Allen said?

I also don't understand how I was "eviscerated?" I said the offenses were anemic...they combined to score 15 points when Vegas thought they would score over 40. I said the game wasn't even the best game of the evening, let alone the century, and this morning nik and the national media agree with me. I even predicted LSU would win going into OT and gave the specific reason why....and then Alabama goes on to miss the FG. I also said LSU is still the best team in the country and would make the title game, and I don't see much argument there. I must have missed the evisceration.

Regarding the neutral site comment, I thought nothing of it. Technically it was neutral site game. It didn't dawn on me to correct anybody over the term "neutral site game."

I still don't see anyone beating LSU in the title game but now some of these other schools may have a better chance if they can manage to replicate some of what Alabama did on defense.

I'm not upset at you. Not sure where you got that from.

The computer rankings don't like Stanford. I think they're pretenders myself.

I agree on the pretender thing. Standford's SOS is really, really bad. They at least will play a top team in Oregon this weekend and have decent opponents in ND (last week), USC and Washington but other than that their schedule is abysmal. Alabama has every right to be ahead of them with one loss to LSU.

Yeah it's easy to just beat teams by 25 points, look how many teams do it. Top 15 should all be SEC teams, then start ranking everyone else. I know there are only 13 SEC teams rank the two best ones twice.

Actually, I just looked it up and Stanford (38) has a better SOS than Alabama (40) it seemed like just a week ago Stanford's SOS was in the 100s.

I take back what I said.....if its not too late.
