This game is having a Bush Push feel to it.

Except there is no Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Lendale white, Dwayne Jarret, or anyone else this time.
    Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I'll never understand why teams do this.
It's maddening. With coaches working such long hours trying to find any advantage, I don't get why none of them have ever thought to look up the stats about when it's better to go for it.

A blog I follow has a feature on the dumbest punt of the week. That one by Wiscy will be a contender.

Go for it or kick a field goal unless your kicker is terrible. Don't they spot the ball on the line of scrimmage in college if you miss it?
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Oh yeah! Chris Gallippo pounces on the lateral pass.

            Clearly a lateral. Stupid domers.

Not anymore, and it would have been a 53 or 54 yarder. The right decision was to go for it on 4th and 8.

                Robert Woods is 7.

I couldn't agree more with you. You have to go for it. Your chances of making it on 4th and 5 with a good QB like Wisconsin has are so much better than most college kickers making a 53 yard FG. And a punt is, as you've pointed out, basically useless.

They spot it where the ball is kicked from in the nfl but that's a fairly recent rule change. Are you sure college has adopted that rule?

                    • Robey jumps the route.

                      Adios, domers.

                        • Stanford just had their 5th 3-and-out of the season.

They're also the first team since 1936 to win 10 straight games by 20+ points.

                          • This is when the season starts to get really good. The undefeated start to go down. The big picture starts to come together. Wisconsin on its way to a loss. The B1G is out of the national championship picture once again. Clemson has got to go down at some point. Stanford and Oregon will be epic. Oklahoma looks like it can get knocked off at some point. LSU and Bama are clear favorites at this point. Who is going to be the other team?

                              • What a great and impressive win for SC. Plus, it has to put a smile on one's face to watch ND go down at home.
