He would never admit to it but I would be surprised if they didn't start that this week. Even if they aren't outright referring to it as TCU prep, I bet they work on some schematic differences that will be highlighted next week as part of TCU prep.

I played in Holt arena a few times in 95 and 96. At that time, it was a much better playing surface than BSU's field was, but it got weirdly stuffy in there, like a poorly-ventilated HS basketball gym.

I won't be surprised if BYU only wins by a couple TDs, but hopefully it'll be because the starters don't even see the field.

Why does everyone forget that the first year as an independent is the worst one to schedule? These games are set 4-5 years in advance. You scramble to fill your bill the first year, but everyone else is scheduled for 4-5 years out.

What happens between year 1 and year 4? Our home sched next season is pretty bad and we only have 4 home games scheduled as of right now.

This does not make me feel better about the recent announcement to play Weber State next September when some real schools might still be looking for a game.

Fortunately, this lousy matchup happens to coincide with UEA weekend and a beautiful weather forecast. We are headed to Lake Powell. I can't wait.

Does anyone know how many "persons of color" Idaho state has on their team? I can't make an accurate prediction on the game until I know the answer to that.

What are the water temps down there this time of year? And isn't the deer hunt this weekend? I seem to remember it usually falling over UEA, but my memory may be faulty as I haven't hunted in Utah in over a decade.

68 degrees. We will be hiking and fishing and just boating around the lake.

Not sure when the rifle hunt is this year. I did the muzzleloader hunt a few weeks ago. Got skunked, but enjoyed being out during a beautiful time of year.

Muzzleloader was always my favorite hunt, but we were really into muzzleloading.

And 68 was waterskiing weather when I was growing up. I don't know that I ever saw Deer Creek above 72 or so.

Yeah, I hated playing in the Mini Dome. I had to tape up every piece of skin I had or it would be left up on the "turf". I also hated running on the half-size indoor track they would put in there.

Yes, I am thinking it is a bye week as well.

Those are my fondest memories....other than running on BYU's awesome track!
