How does BYU owe a return trip? What is there to say that the Utah trip to LES this year wasn't Utah "settling up" for the game we played at RES last year? Maybe they are even?

And there isn't an agreement in place for the game next year is there? So I am not sure if anything would be owed or not.

But I don't think BYU is going to help steer a home and home with ND for you.
What JIC said. And we know how BYU is about honoring agreements. This game will be played in 2012, barring significant concessions from BYU.

I'll also add Utah jumped through hoops to ensure 2011 would be played in Provo (dropped ISU, bought out Boise). Now it's BYU's turn to be accommodating, if need be.

the point is that it doesn't matter whose turn it was. Every game prior was determined by the conference affiliation. Now that a contract was signed for a 2 game series, it is not outrageous to DEMAND a big buyout if BYU wanted to break the contract.

If that was ever on the table or discussed publicly, I missed it.

We moved pretty quickly on ISU and BSU once the Pac-12 invite came, so if there was any idea on Utah's part on playing BYU in SLC in 2011, it was dismissed pretty quickly. Which should have been expected.

Contrary to what others here might think of me (and what fellow Ute fans have said), I have no delusion or expectations of anything but home-and-home for Utah-BYU. The idea that we should demand a 2-for-1 is silly, and I hope never is taken seriously by Utah people.

I would prefer that we honor the contract. I like the game. I don't like it 2 for 1 though.

And I don't think Utah wants the 2 4 1 route. If it is true I think it is pressure coming from the Commish and not Utah itself.

I think 2 for 1 is a non sequiter. If the game goes away, it is going to be about scheduling dates.
