So for those that have been at either or both of the past two games, it has become apparent that BYU has a school song.
At Texas, the Longhorn band "honored" us by playing our school song, while several thousand bewildered BYU fans looked around the stadium in confusion.
Last night, the BYU band implored us all to stand while the school song was played. Again, I saw a lot of confusion, but this time we were given the lyrics of the song as a guide. The end result was equally disjointed, but am I sensing a new tradition in the works?
It isn't a very inspiring song, more like a melancholy eulogy set to music, but I think I will try to learn the words and sing it next time. If anything, it will, serve ad a conversation piece for those around me when they ask where I learned the BYU school song.
Ps now, if you want to talk about inspiring, let's talk about that 3rd quarter stadium video about the kid that switches his Utah jersey to a BYU jersey and then tells his mom, "magic happens!" lol!!!
