Utah's is uglier because of who the opponent was. Both Utah and BYU have things to feel good about and yet others to worry about. We will know a lot more a week from now.

Hype doesn't change facts, no matter how many Cougar fans insist otherwise. BYU's history on the road against BCS teams is a mixed bag at best. That it came from multiple-scores down to win in the fourth quarter, in fact, I can't remember such a win under Bronco, and probably LaVell went a long time without such a win as well.

It was easily a more impressive, less-ugly win. It's the kind of game every SEC champ seemingly has at least one of every year. Nothing wrong with that.

Heaps had an average game, but at least he showed he can make throws to all parts of the field and stand in the pocket and not get rattled trying to make reads. Wynn did neither of those against a D1AA opp.

Yes, Heaps looked better than Wynn. Heaps didn't have an average game though. He was well below average.

I would like to have seen more from Utah, especially Wynn, but they did go up by 3 scores in the first quarter and kept things at least at that margin for the rest of the game. There was never a point where I thought they might lose.

Utah's win as definitely uglier. Weaker opponent and only 3 points in the 2nd half.

Wynn checked down way too quick and with very little confidence in his reads. There were a bunch of plays that it looked like the play was called to be more downfield but he looks uncomfortable in the pocket and then dumps to the TE for 2 yards.

I'm not going to disagree on that, but I also think it's reasonable to suggest that up 24-0 as quickly as Utah was, that there was no need for Wynn to throw downfield. Now I'm not going to say we should have abandoned (or actually did) the vertical game entirely, but I know down 13-0 early fourth, BYU had no choice but to throw a lot.

Both QBs are going to have to get significantly better to get well on the right side of .500.

Guess I missed that hype somewhere in the shuffle. I thought the dominant opinion was that they were still really young at a lot of key position and it would be at least until next year before they had a shot at being a great offense.

Stop hating ! Montana state is easily the second best team in Montana. Buy had a cake walk against an sec team. BYU was way uglier
