Another rebuilding year. Lets hope Heaps, Doman and Co. get their shiz together in the offseason.

Didn't hear any of BM's postgame, but if he starts criticizing the fans again, I think I'll need to take a long, hard look at the amount of time and energy I devote to being a fan.

Edit: re Heaps, a good percentage of his incomplete passes were horrific. His fumbles were ridiculous. He had a handful of crisp, accurate passes, which is reason for optimism.

I sat through every last second of it. I could never leave a Cougar or Jazz game early no matter the score.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

What happened to Jordan Pendleton? I noticed he wasn't hardly in or even in at all during the 2nd half and I have't read through this entire thread to see if someone mentioned what happened.

            Jacobsen for 5
            Kariya for 9
            Hoffman for 12

            Diluigi for 6
            Hoffman for 10
            Hoffman for 24

Not many short yardage completions in there.
Even well into the 3rd quarter I was very nervous that Heaps would unload, the offense would start to click, and that the Cougars were going to roar. I could sense that he was on the verge of killing us, at any time.

For the life of me I can't understand all the Heaps hate. Sure he is silly in that BYU way and makes some mistakes. I fear the vocal byu fans in the stands seem only to remember the 50+ yard plays of the past and forget all the setup plays required to get there.

I love Jordan Wynn because he tries as hard as he can to accomplish the job. Win or lose he is a competitor. He is growing into a good game-management QB. He is becoming more accurate with his throws and better with his decisions. But most of all I love him because he is Utah's quarterback, warts and all. He has thrown his share of passes behind the feet of his receivers, has forced the ball into triple coverage, missed very obviously open recievers down field to throw to the RB in the flat for a 3 yard gain, etc. (throwing behind the TE for what owuld have been 5 yards and missing Dunn downfield who was 30+ yards away from any Trojans may have been the single most damaging mistake during the USC game)

I also have to say that i would LOVE to have Heaps wearing crimson. He has the physical skills to be one of Utah's best QBs ever (although I know he can't run anywhere near as well as Alex Smith or BJ). You guys are squandering your gift. Honestly it sickens me, as it has over the past 3+ decades, to see the Cougar fanbase eat their own players for breakfast like this.

On the bad snaps and what not he's always playing too-cool-for-school. Like he doesn't want to be scrambling or uncomposed or something. The second is a comparison point with our backup QB. Riley is a football player trying to be a quarterback; Jake is a quarterback trying to be a football player. Jake is a specialist in his role to an almost ridiculous degree. I look at our other three QB's and think that if they weren't playing the position, they'd still be playing football. I look at Jake and think if he weren't gifted at playing the position, the kid wouldn't have gone past little league. He needs to find more football player.

I agree completely. Look at the play calls, the run game, and Heaps having to throw 50 times against a Utah defense. Pull the string folks. Heaps is the least of my concerns with this offense right now.

Just got to the point of the Anderson TD. Placing the bulk of the blame on Eason on that play is misguided, that play was created by Wynn having an absurd amount of time. For as well as BYU played on defense and all the credit BYU's defense is getting, Wynn had a ton of time in this game.

Nope, the opposite in fact. Basically he said that as a coach, it's my job to make sure the product on the field is good enough to keep the fans in their seats, and acknowledged that last night they fell very far short of expectations.

Thank you. You are a TRUE supporter of your team. I hate the 'rush for the exits' crowd at any sporting event. Stick around and cheer on the kids, for God's sake! Many BYU fans, other than Mark Grace, need to endure some more time a the bottom of the heap as we Ute fans did during the 70s/80s/early 90s. Back to back 1-10 seasons, followed by 15+ years of rarely rising even to the level of mediocrity, builds character.

For whatever reason I was also a fan of the Cubs and the Patriots during the same time frame, so all of my teams were horrific. And I loved them.

I always pull for the local kids, no matter what school colors they wear. This is one of the reasons I love Kellen Moore, despite hating Boise State Broncos.

I don't know. I am not even sure what he hurt. I have not seen any status updates. But with his history it's probably not good.
