I am also concerned about the temptation to juice that Wynn must be facing currently. If there is a time when desperation drives steroid use, it has to be a nagging, slow-to-heal injury.

I'm going to go with the truth being somewhere in the center.

I think Utah would love LOVE LOVE to have Wynn taking more snaps as he gets ready for the season with a new offense. I also think that they don't want him to re-aggravate a recently repaired injury and jeopardize his season. I think they know that he is their best chance at a good year - as bringing in one of the newer/younger QB's would be a step back.

I'm going to guess that they are seeing this also as an opportunity to get a few more reps for the younger guys - as preparation in case Wynn ends up missing some time during the season.

I remember when Max Hall was named the starter at BYU and took essentially 99% of all the reps during spring and fall - and being concerned that while it would be great to have him prepared, the season would go in the crapper fast if he were injured and BYU had to then throw in a QB who hardly got a rep during spring or fall.

I also agree with those who would say that keeping his throws under 100 doesn't seem to be a big deal - when was the last time Utah threw the ball 100 times during a game? Oh? Never?

I think Wynn has issues. I think in the past he has been a little fragile both physically and mentally - and he'll have to prove something this year. But I don't view Utah being careful with him coming back from injury as a big deal.

Holy criminee, on 1280 this morning they said there were 11 sacks at practice yesterday. 11! They were probably just touch sacks, but I'd get my first string QB in there for as much of the time as possible.

And on the other hand, maybe Utah's defense will be spectacularly good this season. Certainly, the Utes won't be embarrassed in the Pac12 as some have predicted. The lowest they will be is maybe fourth best.

No. They just tend to succumb to painkiller addiction. If you're injured you're not going to be able to lift properly to bulk up on steroids.
