David Oswald didn't help himself, either, although in fairness to him, he's really tall and long, and bench press is a lot more difficult for guys with longer arms.

I know the people who have been griping about not running enough and then citing the "fact" that 3 of our OL will be playing in the NFL will soon be surprised to see only one of them at most actually making a team.

Our OL is the most overrated aspect of our team. Of course, that almost ends up being the case by default because most fans like to piss on all of the other positions (except perhaps TE).

For CFB their pretty good. The team sucks at running the ball because running the ball is something you do only in the first half of games for Anae.

I think I've fallen for the hype a bit on the OL, because I was disappointed with them this year.

However, I think both Bright and Feinga will catch on - probably only Bright will be drafted, though, on the strength of his combine - he had a really good day.

Feinga and Bright are BYU's most likely NFL prospects

Nixon can possibly get in there as a FA. Reynolds completely pissed away his chances, 20 reps spells no commitment to strength and speed training. He must have just given up when he didnt get a combine invite.

For CFB they were above average. I think the biggest reason they couldn't run the ball is because the O line played without passion. You can't just lean on people and expect to be able to run the football effectively.

There was that time at Boise State as a freshman he caught a 50 yard pass from Beck up the sideline. He could also show them about two dozen fly sweeps that went for 1 to 2 yards each. Hard to believe he was widely considered our fastest player in a timed 40. His cutbacks on kickoff returns looked intramural slow. To be fair, the guy tweaked an ankle or foot so many times throughout his career it would be hard to cut naturally by the time he was finished.

Part of me is really sad Wayne Latu is moving on because I never tired of hearing about his ability after tearing off 90 yards against the UNLV 3rd string in the 4th quarter back in '05. The good news is Mike Hauge will be back and also had a huge run against the Rebels in garbage time the next year.

Yes, they're overrated because the popular opinion as of last December was that three of them would be playing on Sundays. Were they above average? In pass protection they were well above average and in the running game they were average to slightly above average.

Four of the Five were multi year starters. I'm of the opinion that they lost their fire and competitive drive because they knew the backups were not going to unseat them, especially the interior OL guys. Also, Reynolds is just lazy (all doubt has been removed now), Feinga was injured quite a bit, and Oswald is just a big body trying to play the OT position.

About a year ago I ran into 2 of BYU's offensive lineman. I immediately started to thinking to myself and trying figure out how many McDonald's extra value meals they had eaten over the off season and wondered if someone would end up introducing them to a treadmill soon.

I'm liking the new breed of OL they seem to be recruiting - it seems like it's rare that they offer a guy who already weighs 300.

                                What about 40 times?

Just curious if Collie ran again, and how some of the other skill position players like Nixon, Reed, and yes, Mahuika fared in the sprints.
