Josh Weeks = BYU's Bob Mathias

Here is a link to some sunshine pumping site for BYU football recruit Josh Weeks. The real interesting clips are the ones from some track meet at Blue Ridge High. These are from Josh's JR year. I don't know what will come of Josh, but that final 400 meter leg in the mile relay was pretty damn exciting. The kid has some serious natural ability running. a 48.7 open 400 mtr dash when one can only run an 11.0 100 mtr dash is pretty impressive strength for a 16-17 year old kid. I thought of the Bob Mathias story a bit while watching this kid from the mountain town of Show-Low.

Wow! That was awesome. That guy in blue was in full panic mode when he realized his dream of coasting to a victory evaporated that quickly.

Off topic, but who on earth tapes a kid at a camp?

I agree about Weeks' anchor leg in the mile relay, I felt like I was watching Billy Mills in "Running Brave!" I was really getting into it and could feel the adrenaline once the picture started including the legs of the kid out in front as I hoped the BYU recruit would run him down. Holy hell, I need help.

I couldn't remember the name of the movie but I thought of the same scene. Epic.

If you will allow me, these videos during the summer are better than anything Marilyn Chambers ever put out. Pun intended.

Never heard of this guy. Good thing he is only a bench player.

Agreed. It is pretty cool when its only the bench players getting arrested.

Let me remind everyone that in America (and it is still America, Wally) the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty. The worst thing that can happen now is a rush to judgement. Let's just allow the judicial process to play out.
                      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

To be honest, I'm a little worried that there hasn't been a Utah player arrested this off-season yet. I usually hope for one or two benchwarmers to get cuffed by this point, just as a cautionary tale to the starters, and nobody likes an august surprise.

I agree. That is totally out of character for the Utah football program.
