Meh. Sandboxes are passe. Sandboxes are in your backyard. Your backyard is boring.
Our sandbox is everywhere we want it to be - Yankee Stadium - oh yes, it's coming. FedExField - already scheduled. Soldier Field w/ a Big 10 team - also in the works.
Our sandbox is a jet to the biggest stages. Your sandbox is Corvalis.
(OK, maybe I didn't want to start this one, but hey it's LA Ute, not some jackass...).
You and I are both too mature, even-tempered, and basically cool to get into a kerfluffle over all this. So I accept your apology and graciously, freely and fully forgive you. You're welcome.

"God made the angels to show His splendour - as He made animals for innocence and plants for their simplicity. But men and women He made to serve Him wittily, in the tangle of their minds."

So you get to visit the cool sandbox once every couple of years. That is exciting. And saying these are the biggest stages has a lot to do with the quality of kids that are playing in that sandbox that day. The Army - Notre Dame game at Yankee stadium was a snoozer if you ask me. I guess the stage was good. The performance on the stage left a lot to be desired.
Coravalis is just one of the good sandboxes that we get to visit on a yearly basis. That sandbox is also good enough for the likes of USC, Oregon and Standford. Not sure why you are dogging on it. Aren't you visiting it next year as well?
Of all the "household accessories" that BYU's football program has, there are hundreds when it comes to football programs, there are probably 6 current players I would want, 2 that are on a mission right now and probably 3 of your coaches. As for everything else, I am fine with what the Utes have.
Welcome back, HL. Who are the coaches? I assume Doman; who else?

Bronco and Kaufusi. I say Bronco not in the terms of him replacing Kyle as Head Coach. I say it because Bronco knows his stuff when it comes to defensive football. I still don't understand how he gave control to Jaime Hill. Everyone makes a mistake here and there I guess.

Only six?
Heaps
Matt Reynolds
Houston Reynolds
Juice Quezada
Kyle Van Noy
Jordan Pendelton
Ross Apo
Cody Hoffman
Riley Nelson
Take your pick of Holt/Mahina/Wilson at TE
There are at least 10 guys. Don't let your bias hold you back.

Lets see looking at Utahs team vs BYUs team the places where I could see a BYU player being an upgrade over a Ute player:
1. Heaps over Shreve, Robles, and a one armed Wynn.
2. Reynolds over the Utes left tackle, also I would say the whole BYU O-line over the Utah O-line.
3. Apo over any young stud receiver in the Utes system.
4. JJ and/or Quezada over Matthews/Langi (at least next year down the line might be different)
5. KVN as one of the OLBs, with Blechen on the other side they would be pretty tough. In fact I think BYU for the first time in awhile has better LBs top to bottom than Utah.
6. Secondary is all Utah all the time no matter who we have and who they have returning.
I think D-line is a wash if Fuga is healthy and Fangupo lives up to the hype.

He would also take an unproven Doman who is the best recruiter in the West over BJ.
Here's my prediction: BYU gets to a NC BCS game while Utah gets its ass whooped in the PAC12.

You are the first person to ever speak highly of Kaufusi. Interesting how different perspectives come from guys coached by the same guy.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

My perspective may be different than others. I have a ton of respect for Coach Kaufusi. I think he is a really good coach. I also think Coach Kaufusi and his knowledge, talent and style is better fit for a 4-3 than a 3-4.
