Wynn out for bowl game with shoulder injury.

At first I thought we were screwed. Then I realized we were screwed anyways. Then I realized Jordan Wynn kind of sucks. Then I realized Cain does too.

The coaches have been afraid of this for most of the season. This is not shocking news to the offensive staff.

[ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5884540"]Utah Utes QB Jordan Wynn needs shoulder surgery, will miss Las Vegas Bowl - ESPN[/ame]

Whittingham said Wynn had an MRI Friday night after experiencing shoulder soreness in practice. Wynn initially hurt his shoulder in Utah's 68-27 win over Iowa State on Oct. 9, but Whittingham said he recovered enough to play in the seven games that followed before reinjuring the shoulder in Utah's 17-16 win over BYU on Nov. 27.

Hopefully the surgery will help him be not so gun shy. Now we understand a bit better why his slides were so awful.

In related news, I just heard from a trusted authority that the LV Bowl succeeded in getting Boise.

As of right now, there is nothing on the Vegas Bowl site about an opponent.

I bet the announcement comes Monday.

So does Boise put 80 on Utah?

Dunno. TCU only put 47 on the Utes.

Yup. Gonna happen. I'm not too terribly excited. Who knows though. Maybe we'll pull off a miracle.

Non-AQ fans bitch about their teams never or rarely getting a chance to prove themselves. Then Utah gets a top 10 team in its consolation pre-Christmas bowl, and all the Ute fans can do is whine about the tough matchup, albeit non-AQ.

Why isn't this a gift? An upset is not out of the question, and it would set Utah up well for a good start on pre-season rankings. Because Utah doesn't need this kind of thing any longer, that's why. Ute fans are already acting like BCS fans!

I will be there with the whole JIC clan. We are stoked to get to watch the match up. We will definitive underdogs, but who cares. I am glad that the players and coaches are excited for the challenge. I wish our fans would do the same.
