One thing I've repeatedly wondered about Kariya:

1. How many japanese FYM have been sent on chinese-speaking missions? Seems there is a strike against them to begin with, as they proseletyze chinese citizens.

2. I'd really, really love to see what Kariya's mother looks like.

I can only imagine how difficult it would be to be ethnic Japanese trying to convert ethnic Chinese. Hey, while we're at it, why don't we see if we can send a few German elders to proselyte in Stalingrad.

Received an email from BYU offering tickets for the football game for $10 (EZ) or $20 (sides). Looks like they want to get as many folks in there as possible. I would have charged a bit less to ensure the sellout. If you dont have your tickets yet, now may be a good time to snap up a deal.

If they want a sellout, they should hand out free tickets atthe local high schools.

Actually, the Church sends tons of German elders to Russia. There were at least 5 German elders in my mission. And they called a German mission president to Saint Petersburg.

The rest of Asia hates Japan so much I hide my Japanese ability in other Asian countries. This is changing with the younger generation, it seems.

I'd equate the Russian attitude toward Germans to be something like our attitude toward the Japanese after WWII. Nowadays a lot of Russians try to prove that they can have German ancestry so that they can move to Germany. I wouldn't say that the Germans are hated, but they might be disliked. Russians always refer to WWII as the war against the fascists instead of the war against the Germans.
