  • The new WAC

Texas-SA, Texas State and Denver. Honestly wouldn't Montana, Weber State and Eastern Washington have made more sense.

    Yes.

It's going to be really interesting to see what happens to the WAC (and the MWC for that matter) over the next few years. Who is considered the premier team of the conference now? Idaho?

Denver doesn't have a football team and just imagine how much travel is in store for Hawaii. The WAC will be dead in five years.

I'm assuming the move is purely over media markets. Teams from Texas and in Denver will gain more attention that the others.

They sure grabbed a couple of teams that a lot of fans follow.

Ha ha, considering two of them don't field football teams right now. I should have said "potential" media markets.

Kudos to the WAC for picking up two very big TV markets in San Antonio and Houston.

It's the same line of thinking that the San Jose market would be pure gold for the MWC. Except nobody gives a damn about the Spartans.

Denver hasn't fielded a football team for over 40 years and they still have a more storied tradition than some WAC schools. That tradition includes a 15-7 record versus BYU.

yes, I can't tell you how many Texas-SA and Texas State stickers, shirts, plates holders and fans there are here.

No, seriously, I can't. I'm not sure I have seen any.

There are probably more people that follow Katy high school football than would follow TSU.

Also, the quality of the football is better at Katy HS.

Do these announcements put the nail in the possibility of Fresno and Nevada backing out of the MWC?
