My two sons and I are meeting in Chicago Friday afternoon, doing Chicago stuff that night, driving to South Bend Saturday morning with a carful of CUFers. Back to Chicago Saturday night and flying home Sunday. Right now just rushing around getting ready to go.

I'm jealous. I failed to attend the game BYU won and it's one of my greatest sports-related regrets. I will most definitely remedy that mistake here in the near future.

In-laws arrived yesterday and they brought Utah fleece jackets for my boys. The coats are pretty ugly.

                  Sorry just being honest.

Even better is Augmentin (only thing that works for me). It is erythromycin (Z-pac) plus a second drug for an effective 1-2 knockout punch.

My parents, sister, brother-in-law, and brothers are leaving tomorrow. I had a game ticket plus enough credits to get a plane ticket, but now can't go. I am sad, but family duty calls and I love my wife and kids more than any sports teams. At least this game will be on a real TV station up here.

They are all going to the Bears/Vikings game on Sunday too. Will be the trip of a lifetime.

Everybody who is going, please take and post as many pictures as possible for those of us who can't make it.

                    Go Utes!

JIC/ER may have to correct me on this (I'm an orthopaedic surgeon; I don't do well with polysyllabic antibiotics) but Augmentin is Amoxicillin(synthetic penicillin-like antiobiotic) and Clavulinic acid (which augments the effect of the amoxicillin). A Z-pack is Azithromycin (similar class of drug to erythromycin). Wouldn't want someone with a penicillin allergy taking Augmentin.

Oops, you are right. It is amox not erythromycin.

I had to stop taking erythromycin and derivatives because it was messing up my liver, but it never really seemed to do much for my sinus infections. It just gave me wicked diarrhea.

Of course the sinus infections pretty much stopped after I left Utah for more a humid climate.

In the late 90s, when I was in college, I developed my first and only sinus infection. Since I was uninsured and paying for the doctor visit out-of-pocket, the doctor told me about a current study for sinus-infection medicine. All I had to do was take a pill once daily for ten days and, over the course of two weeks, let the doc shove a needle up my nose three times and remove some fluid from my sinus cavity (didn't hurt but I still sometimes hear the "crunch" in my nightmares).

My sinus infection cleared up very quickly. I got free medicine. And I pocketed 400 bucks.

They never were allowed to tell me what the name of that medicine was. I wonder if it ever made it to the market, because that stuff worked really well.

I leave tomorrow p.m. for Chicago.

Or maybe it was draining the sinus cavity that cured the infection.

I bet Jordan Wynn never had a sinus infection. See what I did there.
