If I were an AP voter on 10/10/10 (last week's AP rank in parenthesis):

    1. Ohio St. (2)
    2. Oregon (3)
    2. (tie) Boise (4)
    4. TCU (5)
    5. Oklahoma (6)
    6. Nebraska (7)
    7. Utah (10)
    8. Auburn (8)
    9. Alabama (1)
    10. LSU (12)

  • #2
Nebraska will be top five. I'd be surprised if Alabama falls out of the top 6 or 7. They have to keep an SEC team up there somewhere.

This years Utes offense and special teams are starting to remind me a lot of the 2004 version. Everyone still seems to be sleeping on Utah, but if we can beat TCU this year (big if) there is a very legit chance to run the table. Things could unfold in a very interesting way for us this year.

EDIT: I know that is not responsive to your question.

Did none of you guys see Nebraska on Thursday? I'm guessing the voters (and McGuirk) did.

The guy I bought my Pitt-Ute tickets from also offered me his TCU seats for face value. That was back in late August. I'm really kicking myself for not taking them. They're west stands, chair-back seats, about 35 yard line, row 30.

Ohio State at 5? Really? They've played a better team in Miami than TCU, Nebraska or Boise has played and they've beaten them.

                            1b-Oregon
                            1c-Ohio State

                            6-Oklahoma
                            7-Utah
                            8-Auburn
                            9-Alabama
                            10-LSU

I think Boise, Oregon, and Ohio State are all on the same footing. Boise is consistent, Oregon is Explosive, and Ohio State has Pryor. Pryor is slowly getting better but I'm not going into battle with him quite yet. Oregon is suspect on defense. Boise is doing everything they have to for a chance at the game. Now they just have to hope for attrition in front of them.

This is how I would guess also. I wouldn't be surprised to see South Carolina in at #10 a replacing Arkansas this week.
