It's going to be weird to play BYU that early in the season. Probably just as weird to be playing a BYU-Utah hoops game in mid-December.

UCLA is USC's true rival. I say that as someone who didn't attend either school and is a fan of neither. It's just reality.Originally posted by Sullyute View PostThe two most common sited are Florida and Florida State, and USC and Notre Dame (although not at the very end but close)“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

I bete 99% of all educated people agree with you. It's been that way since the greeks. Contrary opinions are but a sad relic of barbarism.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostUCLA is USC's true rival. I say that as someone who didn't attend either school and is a fan of neither. USC-Notre Dame is only the finale for both teams when the game is in LA. It has almost always fallen on the third Saturday in October when the game is in South Bend.Originally posted by Sullyute View PostThe two most common sited are Florida and Florida State, and USC and Notre Dame (although not at the very end but close)

It's true. There was no possible way we could play it if we kept Pitt, Boise and Iowa State on the schedule. I had been saying that I didn't think it was likely Boise would allow Utah to buy out the remaining game (yeah, there were three games left, but we "owed" Boise one trip, no more).Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostSo much for the naysayers saying the Rivarly is dead and that their was no possible way they could play it in 2011.
What we really should be saying here is so much for the naysayers at BYU that were convinced Utah wouldn't work around the scheduling obstacles in 2011 to play BYU. Besides, it wasn't our AD that got all huffy at his biggest rival for leaving the MWC and threatening never to play them again if they did.

Tough call. USC is definitely UCLA's biggest rival, but I'm not sure USC feels the same in return. This much is fact -- USC-Notre Dame has been for huge stakes on the national scene by at least a 3-1 ratio over USC-UCLA.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostUCLA is USC's true rival. After 28 years in this town I feel pretty certain that both sides see the other as their rival. Any claim to the contrary is just rivalry smack. In football USC disses UCLA. In hoops it's vice-versa. But fans of each side care very much about winning those games.Originally posted by Top Ute View PostTough call. USC is definitely UCLA's biggest rival, but I'm not sure USC feels the same in return.
