Is this the same stuff we heard all through fall camp. "We're working extra hard in camp this year, because nobody respects us." Now it's, "We're working hard, because we're 1-4 and nobody respects us."

I remember KW saying that and getting a good laugh from it. Gotta love coachspeak.

Didn't Bronco say something during fall camp to the effect of "We don't look like a Division 1 football team right now."

This was running through my head a lot while watching the Utah State game. It seems like Bronco knew this early, but nobody put much stock into his words at that point.

The whole team has been outfitted with new Zips shoes. So along with practicing really really hard, 40 times have been reduced to half.

Of course he and the players are going to say things have changed. He is going to do his best to make it feel like things have changed. ANd he is oging to try to convince tehm they can also change the perfromance/results on the field.
I could agree with you if the quotes didn't all seem to indicate that the previous 5 weeks of practices were a joke AND that it seemed to be a revelation to everybody.

I had a few pairs of Zips as a kid. They were some sweet kicks!

No one respects you because a team on the precipice just a year ago was literally laughing at you on Saturday. I'm sure that if/when SDSU wins this weekend we'll hear from Bronco about progress and his lack of concerns with wins and losses and we'll feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Gotta respect that.

                    It is what it is...

By all means turn it up... turn it all the way up.

Even after that though... I don't believe BYU has the experience or talent on this team to be effective this year.

Bronco has to be able to say that he did what he could with all that he had.

He's setting himself up to be able to do that.
