I actually think Bronco is taking a very hard line stance with this incident. Van Noy is not even a student at the school and they are making him sit out a year. Most athletes already enrolled would not have to sit out for a year if they got a DUI.

This is very interesting. I am listening to Broncos press conference.

First he said that he chose for him not to enroll, not the University. He also said from Day 1 Van Noy told Bronco about his vices and that he has been very honest about what he is working on. Bronco said they have been helping him and this incident proves that he is not quite ready yet and he doesnt want him to enroll just to fail.

He also said he gave him the option to go somewhere else and Van Noy said no that he was committed to Bronco. He also actually gave Bronco a statement to read which I thought was pretty impressive.

Bronco also said that he has only taken 1 scholarship in 4 years (Kessman) and that he has fought tooth and nail to keep several kids at BYU when in years past they would have been gone. He said the reason for that is because he thinks a lot of these kids need BYU as much if not more than BYU needs them.
