Jim Rome interviewed Manti after the Stanford game. He asked him to talk about his girlfriend. He said, "I can't describe her".
I'll bet he can't."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Father Te'o talked about how the girl would come out to Hawaii when Te'o was home and they would be together there, until they eventually became "a couple". I don't think Manti ever said that publicly, but why would pops say that?Originally posted by Donuthole View PostIf that was a response to my post, you may need to re-read my post.
Edit: Maybe that's wrong. Maybe Manti did say he met her at Palo Alto.Last edited by BGRTHNUMEGO; 01-16-2013, 06:53 PM.

If he is in on the scam, he is getting the worst PR advice ever. The whole truth is going to come out and the longer he avoids it the sillier he will look.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostFather Te'o talked about how the girl would come out to Hawaii when Te'o was home and they would be together there, until they eventually became "a couple". My guess is that Manti's crime will end up being lying about meeting in person. If he really believed she existed, this would feel like little more than a white lie that would save the embarrassment of admitting an online only relationship. I think Notre Dame would have thrown him under the bus then backed over him twice if they believed he was behind a hoax. Much easier to disavow than to defend him.

I can't help but feel bad for Manti at this point. I am starting to believe he was just incredibly naive. I have never been a fan, and even think he has always been overrated, but I can't imagine the hell he is going through with this whole circus.

Yeah, I agree. I mean, just look at all of us on CUF. How many of us feel stupid about talking about our online friends here we have never met in real life.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostMy guess is that Manti's crime will end up being lying about meeting in person.
